Amanda Mograss can only be described as a
“Performer Badass”

She is one of the most exciting performers you will ever see, and with an original voice you cannot train for, nor replicate without sounding like an imitation.  Her energy is infectious, her passion contagious, and her ability to deliver unstoppable excitement and theatrics on a stage for 3 and 4 hour long performances is remarkable.

At only 22 years of age, her voice sounds like a seasoned artist already. Hovering in the lower register of ranges, with a growl and soulful rasp, often associated with older, blues-based vocalists; she is able to move with ease between Janis Joplin to Bon Scott, through to Adele and Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless.

Her range and respectful treatment of her vocal predecessors is undeniable. Her adoration for Miley Cyrus as an obvious influence can be heard on how Amanda also approaches covering the classics, and is a welcomed touch.

Amanda has already been performing on stage already for more than 12 years. In the 5th grade, after just a few vocal lessons, Amanda has essentially never stopped singing.  Since those lessons while growing up, she has taken every opportunity to perform, and sing since! And this means anywhere and everywhere!  She would sing at every opportunity such as School Chorus shows, in music classrooms, always performing regularly, even taking on being the go-to performer for the National Anthem at all School events.

Since 2016, Amanda went from being a student at the local School of Rock to becoming a teacher at the school.   As she states,  “I found my passion for Rock n’ Roll there! ” –it was at SoR where she fell in love with the Driving Edge of Rock Music.  There she was introduced to such Classic Rock song staples as Heart’s ‘Barracuda’, and hits from Guns ‘N Roses to Aerosmith.

Once she was old enough to enter into the local club scene, Amanda immediately joined a cover band and spent the next couple of years performing regularly, locally, all throughout the Northern Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts circuit.

In late 2020, while rehearsing one night with her then cover band, Amanda would meet a local bassist named Mike Martin.  Mike knew the moment he heard Amanda, she had something special.  Mike would introduce Amanda to guitarist Scott Motyka, and the 3 would have an immediate musical chemistry.  The 3 were set to shortly thereafter discover their 4th and missing puzzle piece, one Brian Guy, a seasoned metal drummer, friend and former bandmate of Scott’s, and the 4-some would ultimately become PLATINUM THRILL!

In Summer of 2022, the word is out, the buzz is on, PLATINUM THRILL are delivering the goods.  With Amanda’s commanding front-lady charisma,  AND her once described “IT Factor” – as described by the renowned Bob Conti of the Ac/Dc Tribute Band ‘Dirty Deeds’ (who once accidentally shared the stage with Mograss, pulling her on stage in front of thousands to sing AcDc’s “Girl’s Got Rhythm”) - it is only amazing things that await Amanda and PLATINUM THRILL!

With Amanda at the helm, PLATINUM THRILL continue to deliver the energy, musicianship and performance excitement their quickly growing fanbase expect.  Catch them as they hit every local hotspot in New England! See them while they are still local!

“My music, my performance, my band, is like a drug to my soul”
